21 pictures to make you fall in love with Riviera Maya

This summer, my husband (Brady) and I finally went on a vacation without the kids. It was our 20 year anniversary and wanted to celebrate while the kids were in church camp. We stayed 5 days and 4 nights at El Dorado Seaside Resort in Riviera Maya. I researched for month to find the perfect Adult only resort that catered to foodies. This resort fit the bill. As you can see from the pictures below, The Karisma Gourmet Inclusive is what the Karisma Resort call their Gourmet cuisine. “Perfect ingredients combined into enticing scents and luscious flavours; hearty preparations to delight all your senses. An upscale dining experience that encompasses the finest and freshest ingredients, magnificent culinary creations, and the perfect balance between quality and quantity as we provide a memorable culinary experience for you and your companions.” With 11 restaurants and 12 bars, we always had a new restaurant to experience.

Our favorite thing to do was to hop from 1 restaurant to another. We would try 3 different restaurants in 1 night. We ate appetizers at restaurant #1, our main course at restaurant #2 and dessert at restaurant #3. That way we can decide if it was worth going to the next night. Remember, we love to eat 🙂 This resort made us feel special, safe and appreciated. With only 192 suites and each room had their own infinity pool, this was the best choice. Our only regret was only spending 1 day doing excursions. We visited the Mayan Ruins/Tulum beach and Xel-Ha. Next time, we plan to spend more days enjoying our resort and taking more excursions. What’s your favorite excursion in Riviera Maya or Cancun?

  1. Yes, this place looks amazing! We are huge foodies as well so my husband and I would be in heaven at this resort. We have never been to this part of Mexico before as we have only visited as a cruise port, but have said we need to just fly somewhere in the Caribbean to really experience it in a relaxed environment. Question… did you ride that crazy twister slide??? That looks fun!

  2. You’re right, I’m sold! Congratulations on your anniversary AND your vacation without the kiddos. I love traveling with the smalls, but it’s nice to have a grown up break every once in a while! This place looks absolutely gorgeous (and delicious!) — maybe it’ll be my next kid-free destination too!
