Our Road Trip guide to Walt Disney World

It’s finally time to leave to WDW in Florida. I know you’ve heard this a million times but, it really is “The Happiest Place on Earth”. Our family has gone to WDW 5 times and we still get butterflies in our stomach  each time. We’ve driven straight from Dallas to Orlando without stopping and realized that’s not a way to start a vacation. So, this time, we decided to stop in Mobile, Alabama and visit USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. There’s a battleship, submarine, tanks and aircrafts to explore. The boys loved the submarine, but being in small quarters isn’t my thing! LOL! You can see the picture of Daniel barely fitting inside the doorway and he’s 11.

It’s a self guided tour so you can take as little or as much time as you like. We stayed about 2 hours and it was enough time to go inside everything. It was the perfect activity to stretch our legs and walk around after being in the car for 10 hours. Of, course we had to play “Pokemon Go” and capture some fish. After our tour we stopped by subway and headed to Holiday Inn. The 2 things I look for when traveling with the boys is a swimming pool and a hot tub for the adults. After being on the road for so long our backs needs some TLC. While the boys played in the pool, we soaked in the hot tub. This was a perfect start to our WDW vacation.
